Missing Miles Cycle, 10th July and 11th July 2009.
Athlone to Westport and back.
Missing in Ireland Support Service will be holding its annual ”Missing
Miles” cycle on the 10th July and 11th July next.
We will be cycling from Athlone to Westport and back, collecting on the
way.
Volunteers welcome. There will be a fund raising night in the Wyatt Hotel
Westport on Friday 10th July.
All donations or prizes for the raffle on Friday night will be greatly
accepted.
The event is being run in conjunction with the Suicide Awareness group
in Westport
and is being promoted in association with Mayo Wheelers C.C.
All donations will go towards the two groups. The object of this event
is to raise public awareness of missing persons, Suicide and to fund Raise.
Light refreshments will be provided on the route .We hope to meet some
affected families on the route where a candle of hope will be handed over.
We are charitable organizations. We were set up to provide a support service
for families and friends of missing Persons and those affected by suicide.
This year’s event will generate much media interest.
All cyclists are invited to take part. We are asking each Cyclist to fund
raise 100 Euros to sign on. All cycling clubs on the route can join in.
Search and recovery units, Gardai and civil defense personnel will assist
on the route.

Westport 87miles.light refreshments.
We will return to Athlone on Saturday 11th July by the same route.
(The cyclists will be travelling at Approx 24 klm per hour).
