East Meath Tour - Sunday January 19th A fine, bright, sunny morning greeted the 36 riders that took part in the East Meath Tour on Sunday 19th. January the first round of the IVCA leisure League. Conscious of the Ecumenical Service in the afternoon and the members that wished to attend, the group set off at a brisk pace from the Popes Cross, through Ashtown Gate and along the Navan road to Clonee and Dunboyne. The 1st. puncture came beyond Dunboyne that slowed things down a bit and it was at Mullagh before the group reformed.

With such a large group cycling together we were not popular with other road users and some of them let us know it however everyone was well behaved and only a minor mishap at the back was reported as we turned off the Summerhill rd. for Moynalvey. With VETS direction signs in place at major junctions the remainder of the event through Moynalvey, Dunsaney , Dunshaughlan and back along the Navan rd. passed off without further incident apart from a few more punctures that is. 2 points will be awarded to all that took part in this event. The next event The North Dublin Tour will be on Sunday 16th. Starting from the Popes Cross at 10.00 am with an alternative start point at the Boot Inn at 10.30 am
