The Racing Committee are pleased to announce the program of events
for 2010. Considerable debate has taken place regarding the the re-inclusion
in the Midweek League of DMS races.
The 2009 Race Committee took a difficult decision to exclude mass
start races from the midweek league on the grounds of safety in view
of traffic volumes. It is thought that the revised road layouts in
the Batterstown area may make for a safer DMS circuit and in the light
of this have decided to hold a small number, 4, of DMS races this
season. The first will be the opening
event of the midweek league on May 11th. A review will take place
in the light of the experience of this race. Apart from the safety
aspects of the circuit serious consideration will be given to rider
discipline. It is the
intention of the committee that strict adherance to the rules of the
road and safety considerations will be enforced. It is hoped to introduce
following commissaires to monitor safety. Needless to say the safety
aspects mentioned will apply to Sunday races also. Precise details
will be announced closer to the start of the racing season. |
