For the second time this season the IVCA left behind
the familiar circuits and traveled outside the Pale for the final
road race of the Sunday league.
The race was organised by Liam Collins of Cycling Pursuits on a
sporting circuit surrounded by fantastic scenery. Conditions were
good following morning showers. A nine mile lap covered 4 times
saw 4 groups taking part. The groups started to merge on Lap 2 and
3 and the Limit group were reeled in on the final Drag 3 miles out,
to set up a Bunch gallop.
In the Sprint for the line Paul Dolan just lost out to a fast finishing
Barry Sutton of Cycleways.
In finishing 2nd Paul has secured Victory in the Sunday League(subject
to Verification) so it was well worth Paul's effort to travel yesterday.
Thanks to all the riders who traveled and made the race so competitive.
A special thank you to Liam Collins for all his efforts in organising
yesterday's race and for providing refreshments after the race and
as ever to Donal for traveling and setting a fair handicap for all.
