LEISURE LEAGUE Round 2
NORTH DUBLIN TOUR REPORT Feb 15th 2009
There was sunshine and roses (of the Cadbury’s variety) to
celebrate St. Valentine’s weekend as 46 cyclists set out from
the Papal Cross on Round 2 of The Leisure League on Sunday 15th
Feb. Weather conditions were ideal as the group headed out through
Cabra, Finglas, by Dublin Airport to Ballyboughal, then up the dreaded
Nags Head to a regrouping/comfort stop in The Naul on the Dublin/Meath
border. The tour then did its usual “recce for the rás”
towards Balbriggan (the course is in great shape, Paul!) and headed
back by the coast through Skerries, Lusk and the N1 to Dublin Airport
taking the same route back to the park.
The boys from ‘The Swords CC’ did a smashing job controlling
the pace thus allowing the group to stay together for most of the
tour and Tosh did what Tosh does best – kept law and order
and thankfully there were no accidents or injuries.
The total distance was 90km and 2 leisure league points were awarded
to all participants.
The next round is the 50 in 4 on Sunday 22nd March starting from
The Papal Cross Car Park in The Phoenix Park @ 9.00am.
