IVCA
Time Trial League 2008. |
The final event, the 50 Championship, saw the three way
tie after the penultimate event whittled down to a two way
tie between Brian Cleary and Alan Neenan.Congratulations
to both.
I had hoped that the introduction of a handicap league would
create more interest in the TT events on the calendar. So,
did it?
We had some 90 riders compete in one or more TT's. Five
attended every event. The First two events had the maximum
entries of around 40 riders. As expected the 50 had the
least at 21 save for the Al Fresco Shield 25 where we'd
have been better off in canoes!
Eighteen riders qualified for the B.A.R. and F.A.R. competitions,
same as 2007.
During the season 52 personal bests were recorded so I guess
some of us will be pleased although the TT season will be
remembered by all as wet and windy and not a float day in
sight. Last year was not a whole lot different so let's
hope for better and some really fast days in 2009 when I
will be happy to promote the league again.
Phil Ormrod.
Finally, a huge vote of thanks to the stalwart timekeepers
, recorders and marshalls who make it possible for the rest
of us to get out there to do some serious suffering!
