There was another great turnout for the latest round of the Leisure League on Sunday last 13th February. In all 31 cyclists took part in what was a tough push into a strong head wind for the first half of the event. A heavy shower of snow and hail before the start almost put paid to the day but fortunately the sun came out at the right time that lifted spirits and helped us on our way. The route followed the now traditional trek through Cabra and Finglas and once out on to the open roads towards the Airport the strong head wind started to take its toll. The strong men at the front were able to set the pace and the group split into two on the climb up to the Naul. Things eased a bit through Balbriggan and Skerries but the run from the Coachman's roundabout to St Margaret's was very tough and at times dangerous with strong crosswinds to contend with. It was a good test for this time of year and it is hoped that all participants had an enjoyable day. 2 points were awarded for the event, the next round will be the 50 in 4 on Sunday 20th March starting from the Papal cross at 9.00am.
